So as you probably know, I am a historic preservation major and museum studies minor with a high interest in everything archaeology. I had a blog just on the subject matter of this page, but I got lazy and didn't really post that much. I decided that a page on this blog would be great to post any news, books or articles that I have read or experience I have gotten in the field. So for my very first post on preservation matters I would like to bring notice to the awesome park known as the Highline in Manhattan, NY. I have never been there, but I find the idea of preserving this old rail track and re-purposing it. I feel it helps strengthen the community it serves and so much more. Check out their website, http://www.thehighline.org/ to learn more about it and the nonprofit organization that takes care of it. If I ever end up there I'll have to let you know!
